‘Rota dos Petiscos’ – Samples of Regional Delicacies

An ever growing tradition in several Algarve locations where local establishments are joining the itinerary to sample traditional delicacies and house specialities.

The concept started about 6 years ago and was carried out during the month of May. This year the itinerary has been extended over a few months, between May and September, starting in Lagos and passing through Aljezur, Lagoa, Silves, Monchique and Portimão.

Several restaurnats, bars and cafés participate in different areas and are featured in a booklet or so called ‘passport’ with the name of the snack or delicacy served by each member to its clients.

Each dish costs €3 including a drink. Sweets or desserts served with liqueur cost €2 each.

Booklets (‘Passports’) are purchased at any one of these establishments and cost €1 which goes to charity, to support seven social projects promoted by local institutions.
